11 Months and S'mores

This little one is 11 months old! This is her, "I'm tired and cold" look.
We went to the Festival of Lights on her 11 mo. birthday and enjoyed the lights, train ride and s'mores

Emory still has only the 4 teeth, has taken 3 steps, and can do "all done" and "more" signs, although I am not sure she is meaning what she says. (She is never all done eating these days. She will eat and eat.)  She may even be saying "all done", but I am not entirely sure.

10 Months!

This sweet girl turned 10 months on Sunday! She finally got that 4th tooth this week. She has started walking with her push toy and clapping. She is babbling a bit more, saying dada, mama, baba, etc.

A Two-fer

Alex had the pleasure of having his birthday on the day many celebrated Veteran's Day, so we got to go to the Yorktown for free.

        Emory clearly enjoying herself.
Grady really loved exploring the ship, climbing in the plane, on the "shooting thing" and being a patient in the dentist's chair.

The Fair

Before we get to the fair photos, I wanted to get the boys together in their Pooh and Tigger costumes!
We met the cousins at the fair, and the first thing they wanted to do was to ride a few rides.

           Too loud!
Emory enjoyed watching the boys. By the way, I have had a real problem with people telling me how cute HE is. I realize she is wearing bold stripes (and orange cords), but if a baby is wearing anything pink, err on the side of GIRL! She was wearing purple butterflies the other day and was called a "he" by 2 people. Is she just really masculine-looking? This is why I am stocking up on bows.  After the rides we went to find Abby's First Place artwork entitled, Baby Sea Turtle in Tide. (Well, she THINKS that was her drawing.)

We then proceeded to the agriculture exhibition, where Grady was able to get on one of these...

And look at some of these...

When I was telling Grady we were going to go to the fair, he said, "I want to see some talking animals like the ones in Madagascar 3."  I told him that there would not be any talking animals like the one from Madagascar 3. He said, "Then I want to see some goats."  Glad he is easy to please!
The kids loved petting and feeding this donkey!

Halloween Fun

Happy Halloween! Grady couldn't help but be excited with all of the festive decorations in our neighborhood being up since September. This was a first pumpkin-carving for several members of the family!
We took the kids to the pumpkin patch and had fun on the hayride...

 ..picking their pumpkin...
 ...climbing the rock wall...
and crawling in the spider web!
All  dressed up to get some candy!

Nine Months!

At nine months, Emory has 3, almost 4 teeth, is crawling (just transitioned from army crawl to knees today), saying mamama and dadada, and having a hard time going down for a nap because she is doing this instead:
One of my favorite things is how Emory makes kiss noises at us when she catches our eye.
At her check-up today, she was 28 inches long (63%ile), 16 lbs and 11 oz (27th%ile) and 17.75 in head circumference (68th%ile).

Botanical Gardens in Athens

Here are some photos from our visit to the botanical gardens while visiting Athens.

I love those purple daisies. (NOT their scientific name.)

8 Months and 3 YO Check-Up

Emory turns 8 months today! Since my last post at 6 months, she has learned to sit up and roll all over the place. She is just starting to try to put her knees under her or use her elbows to pull forward. She loves to try to stand and sometimes won't bend her body to sit down.
In other news, Grady had his 3 year check-up yesterday. He was 31.5 lbs (45th %ile, but I think he lost a little weight being sick for several days before) and 37 3/4 inches (40th %ile- I think they measured him wrong last year bc he was 75th %ile then). Here is Grady on his first day of school.

Summer Fun Round-Up

It is a full-time job to keep Grady entertained, especially in the summer! Here are some of the activities we did this summer:
Sir Grady and Sir Tyler at the Children's Museum.

A visit to Bear Hollow with Aunt Steph and Uncle Justin.

The mall playground on a rainy day.

The sketchy "festival" at the corner of Remount. We just rode this one ride. I was afraid of getting kidnapped, seeing how we were the only patrons and the carnies looked like, well, carnies. (No offense to any carnies who have happened upon this blog).
We visited our MS family and had to climb on the caboose at old train depot. Grady could not really enjoy this activity as he was afraid a real, loud train would come any minute.
We had friends come to visit!
We went apple picking.

3!

Grady turned 3 last week, and we had at least that many celebrations. Ellen made this fabulous Disney/Pixar Cars ® cake.
I, on the other hand, made generic "Karz" cupcakes for his other party with his friends.
First, the boys played at Monkey Joes...
Then, we all went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and cupcakes.

On Grady's actual birthday, we had a special breakfast and then were excited to have finally gotten the 4wheeler a battery so he could ride it. Note the elation on his face.
I took a video, but I just kept saying, "He isn't smiling!?" Grady was a bit afraid of driving the 4wheeler and was not too interested in it. Later that day, he braved it again, and I couldn't get him off of it.  Almost every day Grady asks if he can have his birthday again and why isn't it still his birthday.
